New Skype releases for the Mac

Skype has been updated for the Mac. Version 1.5 offers easier dialing to ordinary phones, a “Quickfilter” search function for contacts, a facility to import contacts from the OS X address book or MS Entourage, and finally the ability to see user status on web sites or in emails.

Confusingly, Skype have also released a beta of Skype 2 on the Mac with video calling. Except they did this release way back in July (I know, I’ve been running it since then!) so I’m not sure what’s going on there at all ( maybe they’ve addressed some of the CPU issues reported for those making video calls).

Skype blog: Skype for Mac with Video is here.
