Sir Peter Ustinov: RIP

Perusing the BBC site I noticed the sad news that Peter Ustinov has died at his home in Switzerland. He was a truly extraordinary man: author, playwright, actor, raconteur, film / play director, Unicef ambassador, the list goes on.

I can thoroughly recommend the biography, Peter Ustinov: The Gift of Laughter by John Miller. It provides an excellent insight into a fascinating man.

  1. Sad indeed,

A great actor and a great mind he shall be missed. He had some very entertaining chat show interviews which clearly showed how brilliant he really was. 82 is a good innings to a man of such varied pursuits.

If I had half his wit and charm I would die a very happy man. I shall look forward to the BBC season of Peter Ustinov films..
