Continuing the music theme!

There’s been a bit of a music vibe going on at m’site this week, specifically jazzy funky stuff and monster bass players. I’ve linked to some Level 42 stuff on YouTube before, but this video (pretty decent quality too!) is a real find: the band performing one of my all-time favourites, Heathrow from their eponymous debut. This gig was recorded in Germany in 1982. Wow. How time flies. Anyway, check it out: superb stuff.

PS Bruce, be sure to check out Phil Gould, he’s an excellent drummer.

  1. Phil Gould is one of Neil Peart's favorite drummers.Nathan T. Freeman#
  2. Rumour has it he has a solo album coming out soon. He plays some utterly amazing drums on the album Forever Now, some of which were then used as loops etc.Ben Poole#
  3. I like him and I seem to remember some stuff in Modern Drummer magazine about him. Thanks for sharing.Bruce Elgort#
  4. Did some research and found Gould’s MySpace page:

The new tracks sound great and he uses some awesome old skool synths for anyone interested in that sort of thing (see the Pics page)Ben Poole#
